I had a good time discussing Halloween and the various costumes we've worn over the years. We talked about the different food shops on Hawaii Island and the various activities that someone can do. I learned that I need to study the んです grammar structure and practice it more!

We talked about my fun trip to the Emergency Room and the intricacies of kidney stones. The next lesson will hopefully not be about a hospital visit!

We discussed kit kats and how they're given as gifts to students taking tests to enter school. We then talked about how college entry works in Japan and America. For our book lesson, Sayumi-san needed to explain the 鹿 and も grammar to me multiple times, but I think I somewhat understand it now. Thank you!

It was fun talking about おんきせがまし and all it entails. We also discussed our favorite kit kat flavors and learned there are over 400 flavors!

We discussed the different types of formal speech used within the business setting. Sayumi-san had some good suggestions on books to help with Japanese used for work. We then went through the practice and examples from the Genki textbook. Thank you for all the feedback!

Today, we discussed the italki app, various smart phones, and the quality of the cameras the smart phones have. We also talked about how language is taught in different countries and the expectations of travelers. It was fun!
