AKI HAPPY

My weekly Happy Conversation lessons with Aki Sensei have become a really important part of my study routine. It’s funny how it works - on any given week I often feel like I’m struggling but I can look back to a few months ago and see how much progress I’ve made. Her infinite patience with my clumsy Japanese is much appreciated, and she always gives me enough time to work out what I want to say. She is clearly a gifted and experienced teacher and I’m really glad I found her on this site!

Today was the first lesson with Aki sensei, it was a great lesson! She prepared cards with different topics, such as: - If you could tell something to all people on the Earth, what it would be? - If you have a chance, would you go to the Mars? - What book made the biggest impression on you? I think its a great way to make lesson, every time we can pick different themes and discuss it. Your Japanese level will be improved much faster if you will speak on different themes everytime, in this way you can broad you vocabulary, and also you can heard what Sensei thinks about that, which is very interesting as we all have totally different backgrounds, and that that we can talk about anything online while studing language its just great. Thank you Aki-sensei, looking forward to the next lesson with you!

It was nice to be back in Aki Sensei's lesson after a short break! We had a lot to talk about, so the lesson time went by very quickly as usual. I could tell that some of my conversation skills were a little rusty from the break, but I've been working hard to study for the JLPT and it seemed like that was paying off a bit as I felt a little sharper with grammar and verb conjugations today. Today's conversation topics were a lot of fun, and I always appreciate how well Aki Sensei guides the conversation and how patient she is whenever I need extra time to work through some tricky grammar. That's really helped boost my confidence in speaking Japanese, and Aki Sensei has helped me come a long way since I started working with her!

Aki-Sensei is an excellent teacher. She is attentive to the student and makes the lesson fun and engaging. She also made sure to communicate very well before the day of lesson to get to know a little about my daughter and made the lesson fun for her. Thank you so much! If you book with this teacher, you will not be disappointed! We will book again.

According to italki I have now taken over 80 lessons with Aki Sensei! 🎉 When I first started I was only looking for occasional conversation practice to supplement my existing studies, but I quickly realized that Aki Sensei is an amazing teacher and that these lessons were really helping me learn. So, here we are 80 lessons later and after each one I still feel compelled to tell the world how thankful I am to be working with her. I was a little under the weather today and feeling a little slow, but we still had a fun lesson. I even have a short homework assignment for next time which I secretly enjoy 😊

Today’s lesson was great as always! After many lessons, we finally finished all of Aki Sensei’s intermediate level cards so today I opted for the “difficult” deck. Although the questions were definitely harder, they turned out to be a lot of fun to answer 😃. These lessons are also really helpful for me to gain more confidence speaking and slowly but steadily pushing me towards fluency. I have to miss next week’s lesson which makes me sad but I’ll be looking forward to my next lesson in the following week!
