Terrific class; We make good progress every time and Shyam always challenges me to express myself in Hindi and because of his approach I can feel my conversation ability improving step by step and it is a wonderfully satisfying experience to be improving a little bit every day in this beautiful language. It is almost like miracle to be able to be able to connect on a regular basis with this fabulous teacher who lives so far away. I have enjoyed lessons with Shyam. He is prepared and has meaningful tasks to work on between classes. I feel like my Nepali is improving much faster than it was when I was trying to self-study.

I have completed 100+ Nepali lessons with Shyam now. Why? Because he cares and has been a great teacher. When I finally visit Nepal I will be well on my way to understand and communicate with the many good people I look forward to meeting! 😄

I am American and married to an Indian. I decided to get serious about learning Hindi this year. Duolingo was a good baseline (I completed all available) but I was not comfortable with saying most things Hindi out loud. This is when I found italki and Shyam. I’ve had 6 lessons so far, and Shyam is extremely helpful in my journey. He is professional, punctual, comes prepared, and is challenging me. He pushes me outside of my comfort zone to speak Hindi out loud. I can be extremely slow putting sentences together, but he is patient and makes you feel very comfortable with the process. Shyam works via a shared google doc so it’s accessible from computer or on the go from your phone. (Study during any spare moment). He provides vocab words, song, and homework to practice the concepts you learn. He explains the sentence structures of Hindi vs English well, and I would absolutely recommend Shyam to anyone. Thank you Shyam for everything so far! Can’t wait to continue my journey with you!
