Vanakkam! I am Prof. Dr. M. Amirthakadeswarar from Tiruchirappalli district, Tamil Nadu, India. I am a professor and scholar of Tamil language and literature. I have more than eight years of experience teaching Tamil in colleges. For the last four years, I have been teaching Tamil online to foreign students from countries such as France, the USA, Malaysia, Australia, China, Taiwan, the Netherlands, Canada, Egypt, the UK, and Singapore. I have deep knowledge of Tamil language, literature, and grammar. I have written three books and also have good experience in public speaking and giving radio talks.

I am a professor of public health in the United States and have been taking Tamil lessons with Dr. Amirthakadeswarar for a month now. I am incredibly impressed by the breath of his knowledge of Tamil and by his love for the language and his dedication to impart that love to his students. To learn a language well, it is not enough merely to learn the vocabulary and the grammar. It is also incumbent upon the student to deeply understand the roots of the language and to appreciate its inherent beauty, through exposure to its poetry and literature. My desire to learn Tamil is to improve my ability to be able to communicate with communities about the science of public health, and while we learn that, Dr. A also shares his bountiful expertise about the history and culture underlying the language. He is a kind and patient teacher and is a pleasure to work with him. I can say with confidence that it is extremely rare to find another teacher like him and I strongly recommend him.
