Italian and English Teacher with over 14 years of teaching experience worldwide - fully qualified In 2005 after obtaining my Bachelor Degree from the University of Newport I studied at the University of Cardiff and achieved the PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education) which is the necessary qualification in the United Kingdom to be able to be a teacher. In 2006 I moved to Bangkok in Thailand to teach English and Italian. I am a teacher who likes to be flexible, given the many years spent in different countries I am able to understand students from different cultures. My lessons are always targeted at each individual. I try to be as flexible as possible and adapt to my students' needs. I really believe that motivation is key to learning a language (or anything at all probably). That is why I try to focus on what really interests my students and 'build' on that, whatever it may be – a topic, an objective in the language, a desire to visit a place. That way learning will not feel as something one 'has to' do with all its difficulties but as something one can hopefully enjoy while in the process, while learning things that are relevant to them. So yes, as a joke I that I believe that as in any kind of relationship listening to others and asking them what they wish for is a very good skill in teaching too!
