Sou a Jennifer, uma professora e intérprete experiente de ASL, apaixonada por aproximar pessoas de diferentes culturas. Tendo orientado mais de uma centena de alunos de diferentes origens, sou especialista em tornar a Língua Gestual Americana acessível e significativa — independentemente do seu nível inicial. Do nível iniciante à fluência | A ASL de forma simples! Olá, Chamo-me Titilola e sou intérprete e professora de Língua Gestual Americana (ASL), com mais de 10 anos de experiência prática no ensino e na utilização da ASL. Sou simpática, tranquila e apaixonada por ajudar alunos de todos os níveis a descobrir a beleza da língua gestual e da sua cultura. Já trabalhei com alunos de diversos perfis — incluindo crianças, adolescentes e adultos —, adaptando cada aula às necessidades individuais de cada um. Também participei num projeto de investigação e desenvolvimento de software focado na criação de ferramentas de aprendizagem para alunos de escolas para surdos, o que reforçou a minha capacidade de tornar a aprendizagem mais acessível e envolvente. As minhas aulas são estruturadas, interativas e centradas no aluno, proporcionando orientação passo a passo, paciência e incentivo para desenvolver a autoconfiança. Irá aprender o alfabeto da ASL, os números, o vocabulário do quotidiano, a estrutura das frases e competências de conversação para comunicar de forma natural e com confiança. Utilizo uma variedade de materiais didáticos, tais como imagens, vídeos e demonstrações práticas, juntamente com trabalhos para reforçar a aprendizagem e melhorar a retenção. O meu objetivo é criar um ambiente de apoio e motivação, onde possa crescer e desfrutar do processo de aprendizagem. Ryne’s materials are wonderfully prepared and organized, which helps to guide the flow of the lesson; however, the real bonus is that he is very observant and has a keen sense of how to expand upon the lesson plan and pace it such that you learn a great deal, receive tons of opportunity to do receptive and expressive practice and ask questions. He’s an excellent, excellent teacher.

Bruce is an excellent teacher! He tailors each lesson to the student's skills and goals. Today we chatted for a few minutes (in ASL) and then we practiced expansion techniques. Bruce is always prepared with materials on the whiteboard, and he includes lots of examples for practice for each concept. He is very kind and encouraging, and he's good at explaining features of ASL that do not exist in English. I'm looking forward to our next lesson!

I had always been interested in learning ASL but I had never taken a class before. After seeing Kimmi's profile, I decided to book a class with her. We jumped right in from the very first class and by the end of the class, I had learned a ton. I learned so much and enjoyed the class so much that I purchased a package of 20 classes. Kimmi's demeanor is great and she's a very effective teacher. I'm so excited to keep learning with Kimmi and highly recommend her!

Bryana is an absolutely incredible ASL teacher. Her lessons are well paced and full of information. She offers resources outside of class, such as useful videos on bettering one's ability to sign or knowledge of Deaf culture. After every lesson, she sends a document with a brief review of the lesson, some suggestions for practice, & notes for what will come next. Her teaching is very well organized without feeling rigid and she is a fun conversation partner. It's a blessing to have such a patient and encouraging sign language teacher. I strongly recommend her to anyone who wants to learn ASL!

I've been signing for 15+ years and I can converse with Deaf people, but I've working to make my signing more ASL and less English. Ratheesh has been the most helpful so far of all the tutors I've tried on here when it comes to this goal, and I think I've tried most of the Deaf ASL tutors.

I have had almost 10 ASL classes with Nim so far, and she has been so awesome! I was a complete beginner in our first session, and today we had a really great lesson in which I was able to stumble through signing a conversation with her for almost 20 minutes! So stoked about my progress! Nim is a very patient and flexible teacher. She always makes sure to correct me when I sign incorrectly, and we can adapt the classes to whatever I want to do in the moment - even if that means she has to fingerspell a lot of words in a row so I can practice my reading comprehension! I really appreciate that she sends me videos of her signing the signs we've learnt in class, because it can be difficult sometimes to find ASL resources on the Internet. She encourages me to sign, not speak, whenever I can and also does the same. Overall, I've really enjoyed my classes with Nim so far. Thanks so much Nim! I look forward to taking many more classes with you :)

As you pointed out, we have been working on vocabulary, concept, and restructure, and I can definitely feel like all three have been improving ever since our first couple of lessons!
