First 100 words to learn in Turkish

It is not attached therefore it is not a suffix but it still obeys the harmonies. Mostly used at the end of a sentence depending on emphasis.

This special verb isn’t used as “to be” anymore. It only occurs as an auxiliary verb as in below and is mostly left out.

bir bardak su
a glass of water

bir kitap
a book / one book

Güzel bir kitap.
A nice book. [Nice a book]

“with & and; by”

If it is attached to a noun then it means “with” or “by” but if it’s in the middle of two nouns (or proper nouns) it means “and”.
