Mortal = adjective.
Remains = noun (that which remains behind when we die, that which is "left behind").
Sometimes we just use the word "remains" when talking about a corpse.

Don't confuse mortal with morsel either hehehe mortal means human not a god, morsel means little bit of food - "eat every morsel".
