Habari yako[Hey], My name is Caroline Ndegwa from Nairobi, Kenya. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management with a specialization in procurement. I am a native Swahili and English speaker. I have been teaching English and Swahili for 3 years now. I am looking forward to assist you learn Swahili and English all the way from basic level to advanced level. I love traveling, meeting new people, learning new languages and exploring new cultures. I also get a real personal sense of fulfillment when I help my students achieve their goals.Me as a Teacher
I am very passionate about languages and the journey to learning a new language. This journey requires commitment and effort from the teacher which I gladly offer. This journey also entails optimism and an open mind as a student. I am a enthusiastic, patient, well informed and understanding. My objective is to ensure that you are able to immerse the language you are learning into your day to day by being your or one of your practice partners. With constant learning and practice you will become an effective, fluent and a confident communicator in the mentioned languages, through a fun and interactive class.My lessons & teaching style
My teaching strategy is that during my first lesson, I first conduct an initial discovery session to better understand what my students’ goals or expectation are through my class. Based out of this, we tailor a curriculum that meets the needs of the individual student. My teaching style is direct where both the teacher and the student are fully engaged. This helps the student to build their vocabulary and make English or Swahili sentence structures. We will incorporate grammar, reading, writing and oral conversations which will help you learn the simple rules of English or Swahili that will help you build confidence in speaking the language. I've had two lessons and so far there's only positive things to say. Having been presented with a clear curriculum from day one I've been encouraged to help shape it according to my specific goals and needs. She doesn't linger unnecessarily on topics which I know while still making sure nothing passes without me understanding.
Overall she shows a keen attention to my level of understanding and adapts the curriculum according to my wishes.

Another great lesson with Tutor Caroline! She is very generous of her time. She explains how to "decode" a sentence in Swahili, rather than just giving you vocabulary to learn by heart. This is great for progressing rapidly. She gave me materials to review until next lesson, so I can also study on my own. Asante sana!

This was my first lesson with Caroline. She was very organized and presented a full personnalized lesson plan for the next weeks. I learned a few words and grammar concepts, so I can already form short sentences after one lesson. I feel I progress fast which is really motivating. Caroline gave me written notes which are gonna be easy to study for next lesson. She was very patient and was making me practice a lot. A perfect lesson, thank you Caroline!
