About Me

I studied at the university of Perugia where I graduated with a master's degree in Classics. After which, I decided to specialise in teaching Italian as a foreign language. I also tutor high school students in Latin, ancient Greek, History and Italian literature.
I really enjoy literature, art, travel and teaching! Even though I sometimes find myself complaining about my fellow Italians, I love the richness of the Italian culture and language: that's why I am so passionate about teaching Italian!Me as a Teacher
After graduating, I attended various training courses and received two internationally recognized qualifications; the CEDILS certification and the “diploma DILIT”, which gave with a strong foundation in the theory and practical skills required for teaching Italian.
I have given private Italian lessons to students of all levels, both offline and online; I have also worked and volunteered as an Italian teacher with an organisation that helps unaccompanied immigrant minors.
I don't believe that one method fits all; everyone is different and so we will work out the best strategy for you, based on your goals, your personality and your current level of Italian.My lessons & teaching style
During my lessons, I use materials that I create specifically for my students, along with specific extracts from various textbooks, articles, videos and any Italian content you like!
I note down any suggestions and corrections as we go in a shared Google document, which we will use to make sure that you have fully understood the grammar and the new expressions.
Depending on your preference, we can focus on grammar, culture or just on improving your conversational skills in a fun and relaxed environment.My teaching material

Alessandra is one of the most delightful teachers and human beings, she has an excellent sense of humour and makes one feel at ease at once. After a year of lessons with her (I knew essentially no Italian when we started, I'd done about a week and a half of Duolinguo), I feel I've learned so much and at the same time I've enjoyed every minute. I would recommend learning Italian with her to anyone (in fact I regularly do recommend lessons with her to friends and family who are thinking about learning Italian!).

Another superb class with Alessandra! Besides the great atmosphere, in which I always feel free to embrace my mistakes and speak in Italian for the whole lesson, we also worked with a very interesting text about ancient Rome. If you are considering to start/ improve I highly recommend her as your new Italian teacher.
