In this trial lesson, we’ll begin with a 15-minute conversation to get to know each other and assess your English proficiency. Then, we’ll dive into coursework tailored to your specific goals and study track. This is a great opportunity to experience my teaching style and see how we can work together to achieve your language learning objectives.

Intended for intermediate and advanced learners. In this conversational English class, we’ll focus on improving your speaking fluency and confidence through engaging discussions on a variety of everyday topics. We can discuss topics you choose, or I can choose a topic. I can either correct you as we talk, or we can spend 5-10 minutes at the end of the lesson discussing recurring mistakes.

English Conversation (chit-chat!)

This lesson type is intended for high intermediate to advanced level students who have a strong grasp of the English language, and would like to develop a more native-sounding American accent and intonation to be understood better. We will discuss the phonetics of English, focusing on difficult sounds to pronounce for speakers of YOUR native language (r, l, th, etc.). We will practice the rhythm and intonation of native speakers. In my experience, students benefit most from a 30-minute session due to the intensity of the lesson.

Accent reduction

Exam preparation for Academic and General Training IELTS for all levels. I will help you improve your English skills as they relate directly to the IELTS, and we will discuss the format of the exam. We will use past exams and other authentic English materials as practice (homework optional).

English Language Course

If you wish there was a textbook for the English that people REALLY speak, this course is for you. If you've studied English for a long time but can't tell jokes and stories, this course is for you. If you just started university/college in the UK/USA, and want to get in with the English-speaking crowd, this course is for you.
This is not a conversation class. This is a structured lesson to learn informal English properly, and answer questions you have about English slang in a no-judgment environment. We can talk about texting, tweets, phrasal verbs, idioms, sarcasm, etc... This course is great for many levels, but you should have a basic understanding of English to benefit.
