Autumn Sale   "Let's Talk conversation"

Topics include: Art, British culture, history, books, nature, TV and films, food, health, and many more. 

My "Let's talk" lessons are not focused on learning grammar rules, communication is key!

Here's how it works:

1. I will offer you some suggestions.
2. After you have chosen a topic any needed vocabulary will be sent.
3. You watch/read the material before the lesson
4. We will discuss the video/article in the lesson. 
5. After the lesson I will send you any extra vocabulary we used.
6. Homework may be given, this may be a grammar point. I will review your homework out of lesson time and send it back to you.

In some lessons I will choose a topic. 
We will look at the media together in the lesson and learn new words, then have a discussion.
After the lesson I will send you the new vocabulary, and maybe some homework.
This will help you with communication, as when we talk to others we do not know what they will say to us and we need to answer without preparation.

Course Description – This is a 20-Hour reading and discussion based course on effective, current methodology for teaching English to adult speakers of other languages with emphasis given to teaching in classrooms in countries where English is not the dominant language – an English as a foreign language context.

The course covered not just the principles of teaching English but also outlined how to teach. It taught me to elicit the answers and to use concept questions to make sure the students understand.

Assignments were also given in addition to the online tests and lessons plans were marked and graded.

I worked in the internet industry giving support to customers and businesses. I would liaise also with suppliers using both email and occasionally the telephone. Therefore, I am familiar with the IT and internet industry and the terminology that this involves.

I worked at a school as a teaching assistant helping pupils who were working with a speech therapist. I worked with the children helping them with pronunciation to improve their speech. I would work with them individually and as a small group setting different topics of discussion that the speech therapist requested needed working on.
