Do you absolutely love football/soccer? Are you a big Messi fan or do you think he's overrated? Would you like to be able to talk about your passion more easily in English? If so, this class is for you. In this speaking class, we'll have a relaxed and free-flowing conversation about all of the above and more. We'll discuss Messi's decision to play soccer in the US, his unique skill set, his overall career and then finish with an informal debate around the greats of the game. And we'll do it all in an environment where opinions and mistakes are welcome and growing our speaking confidence is the goal. Before class you'll: 👨🏽‍💻 1) Watch a video that analyzes or breaks down Messi's play in one of his MLS games 2) Note new intermediate and advanced vocabulary words & expressions that you can potentially practice using in conversation In class you'll: 🗣 & 👂🏾 1) Discuss the article or video assigned before class 2) Dive deeper into the debate around Messi, his career and whether he is the greatest of all-time or not 3) Have so much fun, you'll feel like you just spent an afternoon at the stadium watching Messi live (*not 100% guaranteed*) **NOTE** -Students must do the pre-class activities -Adults only please! In this class, you'll: 1) Grow your conversational skills through plenty of speaking and listening practice with other students from around the world 2) Learn soccer and sports-specific vocabulary that can help you talk about one of your passions in English. You'll also practice informal debating, expressing opinions and agreement/disagreement 3) Learn and practice different ways for making comparisons During the conversation I will also do my best to take notes identifying aspects of your English that you can improve upon and will provide individualized feedback after class.
