Sara posted a short video of her cat opening the refrigerator. She thought only her friends would watch it. But the next morning, thousands of people had shared it. By the end of the week, millions had seen it. Her cat had officially gone viral!

Last week, a shy student recorded himself singing in his bedroom. His friend shared the video without telling him. The next day, thousands of people were commenting. By Friday, the video had gone viral, and a music producer contacted him!

Idiom: Go viral
Meaning:
When something (a video, photo, post, story, etc.) spreads very quickly and widely on the internet because many people share it.

If something goes viral, a lot of people see it and share it online very fast.

It spreads fast — like a virus.
