八百年前，有一个人，他有一只牛，他没有钱，他的家很小很小，大家都叫他牛郎。牛郎天天给牛吃好吃的东西，牛很喜欢牛郎。牛郎十八岁了，还没有女朋友。牛郎的牛会说话，有一天，他说，牛郎，你明天工作的时候，晚一点回家，你会看见一个美女，她是你的女朋友。 
天上有一个女人，她很漂亮，大家都叫她织女。织女八岁的时候，喜欢了一个男孩。这个男孩有一只牛。织女在天上工作，她工作的时候，可以看到牛郎。织女很想和牛郎说话。可是她的妈妈说，她太小了，现在还不可以有男朋友。现在织女十六岁了，她很想有一个男朋友。
有一天，她和朋友一起去玩水。她们很高兴，玩了五个小时，还不想回家。晚上六点，她们要回家的时候，下雨了。雨很大。织女的朋友们都飞回家了。可是织女的衣服不见了。这时候，织女听见一个人说：你好，请问这是你的衣服吗？织女不好意思地说：是的，谢谢你。织女看见这个人是牛郎，她心里非常高兴。织女很漂亮，是一个大美女。牛郎很喜欢织女，他很想织女做他女朋友，他说：“现在下大雨，你要不要去我家坐坐？” 织女高兴地说：“很谢谢你，我们去你家吧。” 牛郎做饭给织女吃，织女做漂亮的衣服给牛郎。织女和牛郎住在一起了，他们都很高兴。织女的妈妈知道后，她在天上看织女的男朋友。 她知道牛郎没有钱后，她不高兴了，她不想女儿和牛郎在一起。她叫织女回家。可是织女很喜欢和牛郎住在一起。织女不想回家了。一年后，她和牛郎有一个女儿。他们的女儿很可爱。织女很爱这个家。
织女妈妈知道后很不高兴。她去了牛郎家，带（dài = to bring）织女回家。织女回家后很不高兴，她很想回去牛郎家，看看牛郎和她的女儿。织女的爸爸很爱她，他叫牛郎七月七日来天上，看看织女。牛郎很高兴，他和女儿每年七月七日都会坐牛飞到天上，看织女。
