Van egy kutyám, Ottó. Ottó már nagyon öreg, de nem tudjuk, hány éves. Ottót nem vettük, hanem találtuk. Nagyon érdekes sztori. A barátom, Edvárd nagyon akart egy kutyát. Egy magyar vizslát. Az egyik kollégája pedig galambokat akart venni. Az interneten keresett eladó galambokat. És volt egy hirdetés: magyar vizsla a Galamb utcában, Hajdúsámsonban. Hajdúsámson egy kisváros, Debrecen mellett. A barátom, Edvárd kocsival elment Hajdúsámsonba, február nyolcadikán. Ez volt az a nap, amikor lett egy kutyánk. Ez tíz éve történt.
Ottó nagyon jó kutya, na gyon szeretem. Sőt, nem szeretem, imádom! Ő a legjobb barátom, mindenem. Mindennap együtt sétálunk. Sok kalandunk volt már.
És miért Ottó a neve? Ez is érdekes.
A barátom biológus, a kedvenc állata a viperák. Volt egy magyar biológus, akit Hermann Ottónak hívtak. Hermann Ottónak is voltak kutyái. Ők is magyar vizslák voltak. És ezek a vizslák találtak először viperát Magyarországon. Sajnos nem tudjuk, mi volt Hermann Ottó vizsláinak a neve, ezért lett Ottó.
És most kérdezed, hogy Ottó talált már viperát? Igen, Ottó tud viperát találni. Amikor lát egy viperát, megáll, egyik lábát felemeli, és nem csinál semmit, csak csendben vár. Erre mondják, hogy “állja a vadat”. Az állja a vadat egy kifejezés, idióma. Azt jelenti, to point.
Sajnos az baj, hogy Ottó csak akkor talál viperát, amikor akar. Nem lehet kérni, nem szeret dolgozni. Ő csak játszik és szaladgál. 
Ezért van egy másik kutyánk, Tomi. Tomi dolgozik, ő egy munkakutya. De ez már egy másik sztori. →

Dzisiaj opowiem ci o książkach. Często moi studenci pytają mnie, czy czytam po polsku, włosku czy angielsku. I zawsze odpowiadam tak samo: „to zależy”. Tak, to zależy od tego, gdzie się znajduję — czy w Polsce, czy we Włoszech — oraz od tego, co mnie najbardziej interesuje w danym momencie.
Pamiętam, że po włosku zaczęłam czytać dwa miesiące po przeprowadzce do Rzymu ...

Garrett Fisher is traveling the world in his little blue-white "Super Cub" airplane, as he tries to document every remaining glacier on Earth.

The 41-year-old Fisher does it for a simple reason: "Because I love them."

However, he does it for another purpose too — the climate is changing, and the planet's glaciers are melting. Fisher believes documenting, archiving, and remembering these changes is important.

According to Fisher, the melting glaciers are the first indication that we're losing something because of climate change. "In 100 or 200 years, most of them will be gone," he says.

That's why Fisher is building an archive of his glacier photos. He believes any record he makes before the glaciers melt could be very valuable to future generations.

In 2021, Fisher started the Global Glacier Initiative, an organization to support and show his work, and he plans to open his archive to the public for research.

Many glaciers are hard to get to or photograph — so Fisher has to make some dangerous journeys. Why does he do it?

He's looking for the perfect picture; one so beautiful it can make people and policymakers act. And if one image isn't enough, then maybe a whole archive will make people come and look, get close and pay attention.

"We can live without [glaciers]. We will live without them," Fisher says. "However, it hurts us to lose them."

TV NEWS music plays and introduction animations fly across the screen. A reporter is standing on the street. Behind her is a loud group of protesters. They are holding signs and chanting. The reporter is yelling to be heard over the noise.

Reporter: I’m here in front of the Ace’s Chicken Company factory. As you can see behind me, 
protesters have gathered to take down the chicken giant. They are chanting Down with Ace and other slogans. They have set up a sound system and are playing loud hip-hop music—which, as insider sources have speculated, is Ace’s most hated genre of music. Let’s now speak to the leader of this movement, Sally. Why are you all out here today?

Sally: We’re not going to stand for the propaganda that Ace has been spreading. He’s published lies about me and is trying to manipulate the public perception of his slaughterhouse. The truth must be known. Ace’s chicken is killing people!

Reporter: And what do you have to say to the opposition? As you know, there is a vocal group of employees who have publicly commented that Ace is a kind leader who only wants what’s best for public health.

Sally: They have been paid off! My sources have told me that Ace personally approached every one of them and offered huge amounts of money, and if they declined, he said he would have their careers destroyed. Ace is only interested in how people perceive him. He isn’t a genuine
manufacturer. He’s a powerful baby!

Reporter: You heard it here, folks. Sally, an ex-employee, claims that Ace is spreading propaganda and paying employees to pretend. Sally, what is it that your group wants?

Sally: We want to see that evil dictator fall!
