今日は月曜日なので「富士山情報」をお届けします。
皆さん、富士山に幻の滝があるのをご存知ですか？
ちょうど今頃、５月～６月にかけてのみ現れる滝です。

なぜ幻なのか、なぜ５月～６月だけなのかご説明します。

まず、最初に富士山の岩肌と水の関係についてお話しますね。
富士山には年間にたくさんの雨や雪が降ります。それらの水どうなると思いますか？
通常多くの山には川があり雨水は川となって麓（ふもと）へ流れていきます。しかし、富士山には川がありません。
なぜでしょう・・・・？

実は富士山の表面はとてもゴツゴツガサガサとして水を通しやすい火山噴出物でおおわれています。とても固いスポンジのような感じです。ですので、雨などはそのまま地下へ染み込んでいきます。地中奥深くへ染み込んだ水は富士山のいくつもの麓で湧き水として地表へ現れます。「忍野八海」や「柿田川湧水」「白糸の滝」などが有名ですが、ほかにも多数あります。

しかし、富士山の一か所だけ、年に一度だけ川が流れ、標高約2000ｍのところに滝が現れるのです。
なんとも不思議ですよね。

場所は須走口登山道から約２０分行ったところにあります。
登山道とは逆側に行かないとなりません。迷わないように看板やロープが設置されており、歩きやすくなっています。そうはいっても標高の高い山道なのでそれなりの装備は必要です。しばらく、木々の間や岩がゴツゴツした場所などを歩くと見通しの良い場所に出ます。晴れていれば下には山中湖、上を見れば富士山頂が見えます。

水の流れが激しい日は、そろそろ滝の音が聞こえてきます。
期待に胸を膨らませて進むとそこには滝が！
しばらく滝の流れを堪能した後は、滝の上へと上がり、そのまま川にそって登っていくことが出来ます。
流れ方によって川の音が変わり、景色が変わり、最高に気持ちいいです。

雪が解ける時にのみ現れる滝。
「幻」というだけあって、５月～６月といってもその年の雪の降り方や、気温によって現れる時期もかわります。
また、せっかく行っても流れていない日もあります。
ねらい目は雪解けが一気に進むような気温が高い日の午後。

さらに、「幻」なのは、この川、流れている途中で地面に染み込んでいき麓までは行きつきません。途中で川が消えてしまうのです。

なんとも不思議な川であり、滝ですよね。

高校生の頃は、軽音楽（けいおんがく）部に所属した。元々（もともと）ピアノを習っていたが、新しい楽器（がっき）を弾（ひ）けるようになりたかったので、重低音（じゅうていおん）がかっこいいベースギターを選んだ。放課後の部活が楽しくて、当時は部活のためだけに学校に通っていたと言っても過言（かごん）ではない。文化祭（ぶんかさい）や地域（ちいき）のイベントなどで練習した楽曲（がっきょく）を披露（ひろう）したり、大会などにも参加したりした。人前（ひとまえ）で演奏（えんそう）する楽しさや、部員と切磋琢磨（せっさたくま）し合った日々は今も心に残っている。

How do you improve your IELTS band score. In this podcast I’m going to give you 1 simple strategy to help you get the band score you need.

The technique I’m going to teach you is paraphrase. Yes, paraphrasing is very important, and it’s something that IELTS examiners listen out for. In the IELTS band descriptors you will see that you can not get a band score 6 or 7 unless you can paraphrase effectively.

Let me give you an example.

Let’s say in part 1 the examiner asks you about your hometown and asks you this question: Is your hometown a popular destination for foreigners?

You should answer the question by choosing a synonym for foreigners, for example, tourists.

You could also choose a synonym  for destination, for example visit.

So, when the examiner asks you “Is your hometown a popular destination for foreigners?” you could answer like this:

Yes, many tourists visit my hometown. 

So, you’ve answered the question using paraphrase.

Instead of foreigners you said tourists and instead of destination, you said visit.

Let me teach you again. If the examiner asks you “Is your hometown a popular destination for foreigners?” you could answer:

Yes, many tourists visit my hometown.
