"? I didn't get it.

I will break it down into 2 parts:
1. “Am I fighting for....”
-This refers to when a person really wants something they do everything they can to get it.
2. “...... a spot no one wants”
-This means it appears that no one beside the speaker thinks it is worth the fight.
I would assume the girl is questioning why no one likes him, is there something missing.
