My hometown is a city called Ulsan which is well known for the Hyundai car manufacturing company and the Hyundai heavy industry. When I was young, I had to go by these factories on the way to school. And all the factory workers would be headed to work with their uniforms on. I didn't know that it's not normal to walk around wearing a company uniform until some foreign people asked me why they walk around with their uniforms on outside the workplace. Come to think of it, people felt so proud of their company because they made good money , that their uniform was a sort of a symbol of wealth. Many of my neighbors worked for the companies as well. Some people call my hometown Hyundai kingdom. I have seen lots of car factory labor demonstrations on the streets, that turned violent as I grew up. I didn't like those experiences too much. Generally, when I recall my hometown, I think of it as a busy hardworking city .
