Dima explained that Washington, D.C. is very important, because it's the capital of the US government works there. Luda asked if he had gone to the place where the US government works. Dima clarified what she meant by the US Government. He told Luda that it's not as easy as she thought. He explained there are three branches in the US government. <...> Luda said all that was very interesting but she didn't understand what they did in Capitol and in the White House. Dima answered that in the Capitol they make laws and in the White House the President lives and works. Luda said she hoped she'd have a chance to go to the US some day, see the White House and walk about the Capitol." (I had to change the dialog into the indirect speech.)
