fall head over heels.
Hi Joy. To "fall head over heels" is an idiom which figuratively means tumbling upside down. It is usually used with "love", like this: She was "head over heels" in love with him. However, Town Mouse was actually falling down onto the grass because he was surprised by the horse. The author wrote "head over heels" because it sounds cute in the story and children are hearing this phrase for the first time and seeing the picture of the mouse falling. Have a good day Joy.
