"gimme" means "give me" right? When you say " I want you to give me something" in a daily conversation, don't you pronouce the sound "v" of "give"? If so, are there any other examples people can omit the sound "v" in some casual conversations or quick speech? And are there any English native speakers who pronouce "v" like "b"?? Thank you! Maki

I agree with Deneen. The 'v' sound is most usually dropped when 'gimme' is used at the beginning of a statement/ command.

Yes, gimme means ‘give me’. Give me is the proper way to say it but some people get lazy and use gimme when talking casually with friends. I never pronounce a ‘v’ as ‘b’. They are different in English.

‘Gimme’ is a kind of slang way of speaking. If you want to sound correct say ‘give me’ and pronounce the ‘v’. V and B are not pronounced the same in English, but Spanish speakers, and of languages which have a Spanish influence e g. Cebuano, do often interchange the two sounds.
