What’s the difference between “pricey” and “expensive “. Also “ cheap” and “ inexpensive “? I assume that those can be use many kind of situations when you describe prices.
How does those sound like for native speakers if I say “ This is pricey., and “this is expensive.
“ This is cheap” and “ This is inexpensive “

I disagree with the others. Cheap means trashy, low quality, or selfish. Inexpensive does not carry those negative connotations. Pricey means overpriced or ostentatious. Expensive means high cost--not necessarily overpriced.

Pricey is slang. Cheap could be insulting. Inexpensive would be more polite and would reflect a certain level in education.
