My Artist Statement. Bio Helen Denisevich was born in Belarus and based in New York City. She spent the best years of her childhood studying art. She graduated Art School at Belarusian Academy of Arts in Minsk, and started her creative career as an artist for an animation studio. After moving to New York City she focused exclusively on her watercolor landscapes painting. Helen works in contemporary watercolor, acrylic and mixes different mediums to create vibrant, bright and calm landscapes of nature and urban world. Artist Statement My inspiration I find in the exploration of simple lines and forms of nature and people in an urban world, how the contrast of natural light and shadow interact with the structure of the city. Using my visual language I create urban scenes that capture my perception of the unique and expressiveness of the megapolis. My colorful and energetic paintings are experiments, balancing chaos with order to visually mirror the constant movement of the urban lifestyle. My artwork is a breaking down the memory and life moments into structure and flow.
