Today I had a video chat with my best friend for about two hours. I benefited a lot from our chat. Although she doesn’t have a child, she gave me some very good advice on parenting. Firstly, when our children lost their temper with no good reason, we must have a word with them and search for the real reasons behind it. Maybe it is because something we did and maybe it is because something our children did. Only if we find out the reason can we help our children. We shouldn’t just let it go. Secondly, we should give our children enough attention. Sometimes it is because they lack attention that they lack sense of security and they lose temper to seek attention and security. Thirdly, if it is not something related to the principles, we should accept what our children do and try our best to praise what they do. We shouldn’t always expect our children to do everything as we tell them to do. They are first themselves and they have different ideas from ours. We need to bear that in mind and let our children be themselves. Lastly, if our children do something we think is extremely improper and we can’t control at the moment, we also have to have a serious conversation with them and make sure it won’t happen the next time. If we don’t make it clear to our children what should be done and what shouldn’t be done, it’s not good for our children’s growth up.

Firstly, when our children lose their temper with no good reason, we must have a word with them and search for the real reasons behind it. Maybe it is because something we did and maybe it is because something our children did. Only if we find out the reason can we help our children. We shouldn’t just overlook it. Secondly, we should give our children enough attention. Sometimes it is because they lack attention that they lack a sense of security and they lose their temper to seek attention and security. Thirdly, if it is not something that goes against moral principles, we should accept what our children do and try our best to praise them for what they do. We shouldn’t always expect our children to do everything as we tell them to do. They have a mind of their own and they have different ideas from ours. We need to bear that in mind and let our children be themselves. Lastly, if our children do something we think is / we deem as extremely inappropriate and we can’t address it right away, we also have to have a serious conversation with them and make sure it won’t happen the next time. If we don’t make it clear to our children what should be done and what shouldn’t be done, it’s not good for our children’s education / upbringing.
Good work.
