When you send a friend request, you should introduce yourself a bit and maybe explain what kind of exchange you are looking for and why you are interested in an exchange with this particular user. I, for example, decline all requests which don't give any infomation about the person, who sends this request. Also, I normally only accept requests by users, who speak one of my target languages or with whom I already made some contact via corrections or discussions.
