Passé composé and reflexive verbs
Salut!
I've just begun to learn about passé composé and reflexive verbs.
I understand "casser" is a reflexive verb, with this in mind, I wondered how the sentence "His children broke the computer" should read
1) Ses enfants sont *se* cassés l'ordinateur
2) Ses enfants sont cassés l'ordinateur
Is the “se” unnecessary because in this instance the infants are not breaking anything to do with themselves. It is not a case of “Les enfants sont se cassent leurs jambes.’

It can be both:
Les enfants ont cassé l'ordinateur
