Learning Arabic When learning arabic is it mecessary to learn fusha or can one choose a dialect?

Well that depends on the reason you're learning Arabic for, if you're learning it for general interpretation purposes and reading texts, then fusha is the way to go, but if you're merely visiting/moving to a certain Arab country with no real professional use, then I recommend that you just learn the dialect of that country.

Do not learn any dialect, you will be very confused and not understand other dialects (There are tens and tens of them)

Whether people feel it is natural or not, Fu'sha (MSA) is the way to go. It is not only for formal purposes or some archaic language, it is even used in cartoons and suits many genres (comedy, formal, action, casual etc.)

All Arabs in general understand MSA, so if you learn it, you will be able to converse well.

I don't think it's necessary but it certainly helps. I started with Fusha and then moved to dialect. The advantage that I find is that I can talk to people from different countries using Fusha.

If you want Arabic for literature , Quarn watching news channels, reading some newspaper learn Al Fus'ha ,but If you want to have conversations with Arabic speakers whether in work ,restaurants ,hotels ,people on the streets ,friends choose one of the dialects to learn ,we don't speak Fus'ha at alll in our life

It's un natural to speak Fus'ha in our daily lives in all Arab countries

Our songs ,series , daily conversations even our writing on social media like Facebook and Twitter we use dialects

Only If you want to say something is originally in Fus'ha you say it in Fus'ha

You can learn both ,but If you can't choose only one or you can start with one of them then learn the another
