Best English-Swahili dictionary? Or, resource that shows word origin?

Hamjambo!

Anybody have suggestions for a solid english-swahili dictionary?

I use https://glosbe.com quite a bit, especially for the translation examples.

I'm looking for a resource that shows example usage/phrasing and word origin. Know of anything?

Asante Sana!

Mambo April! The best dictionary I've found is TUKI, made by the University of Dar es Salaam. It is free, ad-free and works offline in every smartphone or computer. It contains many examples, idioms, the origin of Swahili words and the verbal derivatives: https://swahili-dictionary.com/

Asante Eduardo!

(Khi).

Mambo vipi, April?

I don't really know any other dictionary that comes with translations as the one you mentioned. Glosbe is very useful. Maybe you wanna take a look at this link: https://www.indifferentlanguages.com/words/what_do_you_recommend%3F ;

It has phrases of diverse topics in Swahili and other languages. It may have some mistakes but it's good anyway.

Kwa heri dada!!

April, is that little (Khi) at the end of that except referring to the language the word was borrowed from? I've come across some etymology lists that use abbreviations like that but I don't actually know what languages they represent. Does the book include a key or something like that?

I don't have a monolingual dictionary but I should probably get one.

These are a couple that I use frequently when I come across unfamiliar words. There aren't a ton of example sentences, however.
