What is the difference between ぐらい & ごろ? They both mean 'around, approximately', right? So what is the difference between the two?

ごろ、is only used for time, date, seasons,
3時ごろ about 3 o'clock、秋ごろ、around this autumn

You can use for many things like
I am about 50 kg. 50
I swam about 100 M. 100
I will go there around 3. 3

I think ぐらい and くらい are generally used for time/the amount/the number of people or things)/speed/degree/a grade/length/age and so on,  also it can be used when we are comparing two people/things/situations.
e.g.
25歳ぐらい (around 25 years old)
(A is as heavy as B.)

I think ごろ and ころ are commonly used for (the) time/period (of time)/an era/a particular time in someone’s life or in history.
e.g.
5時ごろ (around five)
ごろ (these days/nowadays)
私が子供のころ/子供のころ (when I was a kid/as a kid/in childhood)
17世紀ごろ (around the 17th century)
(It's about time I went home.)
(We've known each other since we were kids.)

I hope it helps.

This is just extra info.

Young children usually use onlyぐらい. Because young children don't have clear idea of time. They can't use ごろfor time.

You can use both for time. But if you use ぐらいfor time in formal situation, it might sound strange.

In business scene,

←It sounds strange.

← better
