Bobby, I didn't mean to offend you. I don't believe in God/Goddess/deities but it's your right to believe and I respect it. It's great it helps you cope. It helps my mother too.
But Christianity isn't the only religion in the world, there are lots of them, and I wanted to say that for many other cultures and people, their religions help them as well, those who believe in Buddha, or Shintoists, they experience the holy spirits inside them too and their religions are their escapism.
With all due respect Bobby, I don't think that it's fair for you to say that Alycia's comment is "wrong" just because you disagree with it.
Alycia, I think you've made a fair point and some people do find a form of escapism through religion.
I am also curious to know what your answer is to your own question, do you think escapism is necessary? or do you believe it's something that stems from modernism and is unnatural?
