What is more important intelligence or wisdom?
I remember my friend telling me that she would rather have wisdom than intelligence.
I thought about it for a while and I agree with her. It is because wisdom is something not all
intelligent people have. You can be intelligent but still, lack wisdom.
Let us differentiate wisdom from intelligence first.
1. Wisdom means being wise. A child can be wiser than an adult who is intelligent.
If you have wisdom, you think and act fast in accordance with vast knowledge, experience, common sense, and great insight. You have a good understanding of what is right and wrong. You are very capable no matter how difficult the situation is, you can
make good judgment.
2. Intelligence means you have acquired useful knowledge and you know how to use it.
A person who is studious, scholarly and great in theoretical knowledge.
Intelligence is often associated with learning and your ability to acquire new knowledge.
I think wisdom is very important for me, I live in an environment that requires me to act and think fast. In challenging environments, I would need to make wise judgments. Because of my sports ( trail running ) and the environment that I am in, I would need to make decisions based on wisdom. Your experiences will teach you wisdom and also making mistakes. I think when humans make mistakes, they become wiser the next time. In addition, I have gained wisdom from friends and even strangers. I have learned more from life than what I read in the books.
What about you?
What is more important intelligence or wisdom?
( If you have both then you have intellectual wisdom)
Enjoy your weekend. :-)
