Yes. there is.
So is like therefore. Also is like in addition to. Example:
I didn't sleep, so I am tired. But I also didn't eat, so I am hungry

"So" indicates on consequences or results. "Also" gives an additional Information.

After so, you write a result of a thing. After also, you make an addition.
