Sr David Ashburn
I have been doing something using LLEVAR
I recently ran across this use of the verb llevar.
"Llevo tres anos viviendo aqui "
"llevo trenta minutos esperando."
I would have thought these sentences would be translated in spanish as
"He estado viviendo aqui por trenta anos "
and
"He estado esperando por treinta minutos"

are both correct? Is the use of llevo only nin mexico?

lo lamento pero no puedo poner acento en (ano) o el tilde encima la letra (n) porque mi computadora no tiene

Llevo is used in all Spanish speaking countries.

"Llevo tres años viviendo aquí" * really important to use the ñ , because ano means anus without the ñ. * aquí haves an accent mark in the i

""llevo treinta minutos esperando" * remember treinta haves an i

"He estado viviendo aquí por treinta años"

"He estado esperando por treinta minutos"

both are correct.

They are both correct. Actually, the "llevar + gerund" formulation seems to be far more common among natives speakers, as far as I can tell.

I personally preferred the "haber estado + gerund" formulation initially because the llevar formulation was conceptually pretty confusing to me (it doesn't translate very well literally to/from English).
