'Reign' as a root word in English

I made a video about the unique pronunciation and usage of the root 'reign':

Becoming familiar with the roots of English not only helps you build your vocabulary, it also gives you better intuition when encountering a new word.

As always, if you have a question about pronunciation or vocabulary, I would love to help.

Reign, rule, govern are three verbs concering managing a country

Is there any distinction among them?

Hi, Thaddeus

very grateful for your interpretation

There is major difference between those three verbs. However, 'to govern' is not specific to supreme leaders. For instance, a president can govern but they cannot rule or reign.

It is true God Save the Queen uses the root 'reign' as a verb twice.
