Why do you say that? Do you believe it or only say it to spark discussion?

Certainly there is much evil motivated by poverty, but history is full of evils enabled by or motivated by wealth.  Greed and it consequences is an evil that has nothing to do with poverty.... I think.

I think moral poverty and poverty of the mind it the root of all evils :)

I disagree, I think the root of evil is ignorance, not poverty.

Ignorance leads to fear, fear leads to hate, hate leads to violence.

I strongly believe that Evil is the root of Poverty.

Miki, no one corrected you so I thought I'd do that for you. The saying is "poverty is the root of all evil" with the evil being singular, not plural. 

The question you want to ask is: Do you think that poverty is the root of all evil? OR What do you think about the saying: poverty is the root of all evil? 

If no one was poor greed, jealousy and perversions would still exist and cause all sorts of evil acts and people that are not poor do evil things so poverty cannot be the root of ALL evil even though it is the root of much suffering.
