Hello fellow learners of Japanese!!
Is one of you using a Kindle to read Japanese books? Does the Kindle (paperwhite or fire or whatever, so many of them!) helps to build vocabulary? Can one lookup kanjis at the same time?

I recommend paperwhite unless you mainly read mangas.
It can be very useful.I started learning English using a kindle to read children's picture books.I hate learning languages using textbooks.It's boring:(I think the most important thing is to enjoy it.You couldn't continue it without fun.
With my Sony I can do notes, but it's really not convenient.
I use an android phone. You can download books from aozora bunko, and a dictionary from the play store. But I'm not really sure if it is not better to use books oriented to the noken in order to increase vocabulary and all other necessary skills.
I think it can be useful, especially for portability reasons as you've said. I've used a regular e-Ink kindle for everything from manga to lesson notes and found it to be a comfortable way to review away from a computer.
