Problem with oopt test Hello Everyone, I am a native speaker of English. I was born in Pasadena, California many years ago. When italki offered the OOPT test to show proficiency in English, I thought it was a good idea to take the test. During the second half of the test, my internet went out. I could not complete the test. This reflected upon my OOPT score and shows me to not totally understand my own language. When you look at the teachers here (and you find me) you will also find that I am one of the few who took the time and had the courage to take the test in my own language. The test had a British flair to it. I am not British. My English is American English. I had to listen well during the verbal part of the test because the accent was British. The real reason the OOPT score shows that I do not have complete mastery of my language is because the internet connection failed. I am hoping to be able to take the test again as this is very embarrassing to me. Two of my students pointed this out to me yesterday and were surprised as my English is good. I am telling all of you this because, honestly, I speak English and the students that I have had here for a year and a half will tell you that they have learned from me.
