Some chums and I were walking around the city when a geezer told us if we were keen to throw a party there was a new place with really cheap admission and free booze. Then that night, just as we were ready to pop out (I would say 'head out' but I think 'pop out' is ok) we found out that the party had been called off. So we went to a bar and it was fun as well.

Excellent! A 'geezer' is a really old person, so I wouldn't think somebody that old would know where the good parties are :-)
