How should I respond when I'm said asked ”How are you ？”

When I meet a foreigners at work in Japan, some people say to me, ”How are you?” as a greeting. In Japan, almost people everyone learns that we should reply with, ”I'm fine thank you and you?” But I think that the reply is it's too long to reply and I wanna want to reply with something more easier. What should I respond with?
