The different place, the different meaning I had a student practiced the particle 'も' which made me drawn my attention to the interesting point. 「ジョンさんは、4つのハンバーガーも食べました」, which means 'John ate four hamburgers too'. 「ジョンさんは、4つもハンバーガーを食べました」 or 「ジョンさんは、ハンバーガーを4つも食べました」 which mean, 'John ate as many as four hamburgers' You might remember that words order in the Japanese language is not so matter when you use the particles correctly, however, in such cases above, you sometimes have to be careful about the order when making some expressions.

A Different Place, a Different Meaning

I had a student practice the particle 'も' which brought my attention to an interesting point.

「ジョンさんは、4つのハンバーガーも食べました」, which means 'John ate four hamburgers too'.

「ジョンさんは、4つもハンバーガーを食べました」 or 「ジョンさんは、ハンバーガーを4つも食べました」 means, 'John ate as many as four hamburgers'

You might remember that word order in the Japanese language is not really important when you use the particles correctly, however, in cases like the one above, you have to be careful about the order when making some expressions.

4つのハンバーガーも(too, also) vs ジョンさんも (too, also): 状況に応じてどちらにもなりえるそうです。私も以前気になってネイティブに聞いてみたことがあります。次のサイトも役に立つかと思います。 http://www.englishpage.com/minitutorials/also.html

「ジョンさんは、4つのハンバーガーも食べました」, which means 'John ate four hamburgers too'. It means somebody ate 4 hamburgers? If it is,「ジョンさんも、4つのハンバーガーを食べました」 is collect. If I misunderstood,I'm sorry. I'm not good at English.
