I saw a funny picture on twitter in Japan this morning. A pair of kanji was printed on a shirt, and there was the English translation "COOL GUY" below the kanji. Actually, "冷" means "cool" and "奴" means "guy". But in this case, we pronounce these words "hiyayakko", and this is a tofu dish. It is a cold tofu dish.Be careful if you want to wear this shirt!!

English speakers say "chilled" for food that is put into the refrigerator specifically so that it can be served cold. I.e. "Let's chill this cheese cake in the fridge before we eat it."
A cold dish is not necessarilly chilled in the refrigerator, it could be a hot dish that has been left for a long time, and has cooled down.
P.S I remember my friend and I bought t-shirts in Canada which had "chinese characters" printed on the front. However, I happened to be lying down, and looking at the t-shirt from below I could see that these "chinese characters" were actually upside-down roman letters which said "Fuck You!" in English!
