Changes in Zhangzhou I’ m Huang Peiru. For this report I have interviewed my mother. She said that great changes had taken place in Zhangzhou these years. People in Zhangzhou are very happy because of the development of our hometown. In the past, life was very simple. There were few leisure activities. The roads were very narrow and few people had their own cars. Many children couldn’t get an education and their living conditions were very poor. People often wrote letters to keep in touch with each other. However, things have changed greatly since the reform and opening-up. People have more time to enjoy themselves. The roads are getting wider and wider. Many families have had their own cars. Most children can study in modern schools with new classrooms and they can get a good education. They can live in tall and bright buildings. What’ s more, communications are becoming easier and quicker. The changes in Zhangzhou make me excited and I hope my hometown will become better and better.
