Could you please look at a pic? There is a sentence like "It was sort of a lark that I joined". Can I turn that around that ”it was a joke that I joined” or ”I joined it for fun”? How can I turn that around? Could you help me? Thank you for your time and help.

Hi, American here. I believe this is UK English but the phrase "for the lark" tends to mean "for fun" or "just because". In the US we tend to say "for the heck/hell of it" a slightly rude way of saying "I didn't have a well thought out purpose of doing this"

Lark means, “something done for fun”. So yes, if you’d like, you can say “I joined for fun”.👍🏻
