Generally, you should use “while” in a clause with a continuous action, using a verb in a continuous tense. We use “when” in a clause with a single action, using a simple past or present tense.
So,
I always listen to music while driving./
I always listne to music while I am driving.
I always listen to music while I driving

Both are fine.
1 is basic language.
2 is posh language.

En mi opinión Dani te dió una explicación muy buena. Ambas formas son correctas solo que
1. I always listen to music when I drive --- es la forma más cercana al español pero al mismo tiempo, se trata de un lenguaje muy básico.
2. I always listen to music while I drive - Es un modo más fino, más elegante de hablar. Por lo tanto, segun la opinión de mucha gente esa opción es mejor.
Sigue estudiando y éxitos.

They are equally good. "While" is more precise but in your example there is no need for precision. Here is an example where "while" would be a better choice:
"Since music makes me daydream, I listen to music in a car only if someone else is driving, but not while I drive".
