They are the same thing, but one is English and one is German.

q1) Exactly the same relation as between China and 中国 . q2) obviously it depends upon the language you are speaking, if you are using Italian, then Germania would be the right word.

I think that Germany is English term, whereas Deutschland is native German name for their country. So I don't think it would be correct to use Deutschland when speaking English.
