You should use the double quotation marks “ ” or, alternatively, you can use the guillemets « » (angle quotes) when reporting speech or thought in its original form (direct speech). In Italian, they are called virgolette alte o doppi apici “ ” e virgolette basse o caporali « ».
Per esterma precisione :)) le stanghette dritte " " si usano solo per esperimere minuti e secondi, come ad esempio 3'10" (tre minuti e dieci secondi).
