Should I say 1000 euro or 1000 euros in British English?

If there are one thousand of them, then of course you need to put an "s" on the end!
1000 euros

I think other countries such as France, who actually use the Euro, say "1000 euro". Not completely certain, I just remember my French teacher saying it that way. English people will say "one euro" or "two euros". Might be interesting to hear how people in Ireland say it too, as they actually use the Euro there.
