I disagree that they are completely different words. While they can have different meanings, they can also be used similarly. For example, if someone suggests that you go to the store, you could say "I've already done that" (or "I've already gone there"), but you could also say "I was there before." The difference is that before is a preposition whereas already is an adverb. Both of them mean "prior to," though. In Persian, "before" is like "ghabl az," but "already" is like "ghablan." They are completely differents words I already did that. I already saw that movie. I already give her/he the money. I already finished my task before I talk to you on the phone. I never saw that before. Where did you buy it.
