What does "I'd locked myself out of the house..." mean?
There's a definition and an example in a dictionary like this:
lock somebody/yourself out (of something) to prevent somebody from entering a place by locking the door
I'd locked myself out of the house and had to break a window to get in.
But, still, I can't make sense of the example. Esp, "I'd locked myself out of the house".
What does it mean?

It is exactly what it says.
You went out and pulled the door shut to automatically lock it.
However you did not take keys to get back in,
So literally, you locked yourself out of the house.
More common, is locking yourself out of your car.

It means that you did not have the house key to get back into your house. You might have left it inside the house!
